Good afternoon, everyone!
Last week was, at times, exciting, exhausting, exhilarating, and eye-opening. (see what I did there? I crack myself up.)
In seriousness, though, it was amazing! I’m honored to have had the opportunity and excited to roll out new services for you.
I know many of you are struggling with Covid restrictions currently in place. Questions like “Does it make sense to go out in public?” and “Should I see my <insert provider name> face-to-face?” are sure to have come up. I have the same concerns. Fortunately, I learned last week how to alleviate this, at least with respect to Medical Qigong treatments: Go Remote!
One of the beautiful things about working with energy is not requiring direct, hands-on, contact with clients. Treatments can be conducted from across the room, from across town, or even from across the globe. Treating remotely is equally effective as an in-person treatment. Because it’s the same treatment. Even lying on my massage table, most of the treatment is already remote. The difference is a matter of inches versus potentially miles. And distance does not matter.
So what is a remote treatment like?
I’ll add this into the FAQ at some point, but here’s a brief rundown.
You have to be open to the idea of getting treated (no different from traditional treatments). You need to have at least an hour of uninterrupted and quiet time. This is important. You shouldn’t be making a sandwich or checking your feeds. If it’s a first session, I may ask for a picture, on which we can coordinate prior to the session. You need a phone (or Skype, Zoom, or other video-conferencing tool). That’s it, easy-peasy.
The session will start with an intake. I’ll tell you to get comfortable, with your phone on speaker, somewhere you can hear it (but not be tempted to touch it). I’ll put my phone on mute and begin the session. Once complete, I’ll unmute my phone and we’ll have a conversation about what occurred and I’ll answer any questions. Finally, I’ll teach you your homework prescription.
Wait, there’s homework? Yes. Don’t worry, I’ll only be testing you on it on a pop-quiz-like basis. Just kidding. No quizzes other than a “how’s your homework going?” question during subsequent sessions. And the prescription exercises are easy and only take a few minutes. Like any prescription, they’re designed to assist in the healing work…to prolong or reinforce the effect of the treatment.
Anyway, I should get this posted and get back to work. Hope your week was fantastic and the next one is even better.
